This mocha tart is an adaptation of a family favorite. This recipe was my Mum’s ‘go to’ dinner party dessert and as children, my brother and I used to squabble over any left overs the morning after she had served it. I always won – you don’t want to get between me and chocolate tart.
Eating a slice (or perhaps 2) of this rich chocolaty dessert today took me straight back to my childhood, those many (too many) years ago. My Mum used to use a pate sucre tart case which was divine but today I wanted to try out a new chocolate shortcrust pastry recipe so I have used that instead. It has turned a delicious chocolate coffee (or Mocha) tart into a decadent chocolate tart with a hint of coffee.Yum!
You only really need small servings – it goes a long way. Serve it with cream or perhaps even ice-cream and enjoy!
